Computex 2014 - Antec
Antec is a company that's been a little quiet in the last few years, though more recently it's started to pick up steam again, and most recently we've seen the
Kühler H2O 650 cooler and the
ISK600 chassis. The company had a few new cases on show this year at Computex, specifically the P380 and the ISK600M.
The P380 is a new high end offering from Antec. The sleek exterior is thanks to a 6mm thick sheet of aluminium – the build quality here is seriously top notch, and the plain black coating on the metal is ripe for some modding. As you'd expect from a case of this size, you're able to cram plenty of hardware inside, including two 360mm radiators, and the interior is flexible too, as all of the drive cages are removable. You might be surprised to learn that despite the size, full fat 5.25-inch optical disk drives are not supported. Instead, for those users still living in the dark ages, Antec has included a slimline optical disk drive secured to the rear of the front aluminium section, and disks are loaded from the side rather than the front, which maintains the subtle aesthetic.

The P380 should be available around August/September time with both windowed and windowless versions coming – pricing for the UK isn't set, but a price of 229 Euros confirms that this isn't a case for those on a tight budget.
As you may have guessed from the name, the ISK600M is the micro-ATX version of the ISK600, which we rather liked. As such, the design is very familiar, from the aluminium lid to the horizontal motherboard mounting and the excellent drive trays which slot in at the top of the case. That said, thanks to the extra room, the 3.5-inch mounts have been moved to the area beneath the motherboard, so the case should be even easier to work with. Pricing hasn't been established yet, but we don't expect that it will be too far from current ISK600 prices, and availability is currently on the same schedule as that of the P380.

We're hoping to get samples of these two new cases as soon as they become available – which do you prefer and why?
